Keller and I took Michael's ashes on a motorcycle adventure to the Big Bend region of west Texas and spread them on a hill overlooking Terlingua. As usual, and in honor to Michael, we rode down averaging 110 mph and pulling wheelies in every town we passed. We spent the night in Marfa and watched The Strange Boys play and drank mucho cerveza. We left early the following morning riding south down the Pinto Canyon Road, which is twenty miles of off-road mountainous Chihuahuan Desert. We pulled over and did the things that we usually do when we pull over - impress and denigrate each other, then rode to Presidio for a lunch of red mole enchiladas and cold beer. From there we headed east on the River Road to Terlingua. The Terlingua Chili Cook Off is mostly bikers whose day job is a meth lab. We drank many, many beers, sampled the chili-meth and headed up a hill overlooking the town to spread Michael's ashes in that prehistoric edge of the earth.
way cool guys...nice of you to do this for your friend...
