The 'enemy within' is reference to the union, scragill and his officials, not the miners themselves.
-
read the story: "Margaret Thatcher blocked Soviet aid for striking miners, files reveal" - from the guardian
Scargill was the enemy within

Can someone please tell me the name of the tune played by the band at 05:45?
Thanks!

Years ago I went to a series of talks at the Methodist Church Hall next door to Parliament: Paddy Ashdown, Ken Clarke and Tony Benn. It was a young audience and Tony Benn was shameless in his playing to the gallery - everything he said showed his complete ignorance of economics, matched only by his cynicism.

Is there anything left of the British coal industry? I've been told that almost all the coal now comes from low wage sources in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Yes of course. The 2nd Viscount Stansgate or the 3rd Baronet Benn of The Old Knoll or whoever he is is of a kind with the average flying picket's problems, you know. He learnt working class solidarity at Westminster School and at New College, Oxford on his PPE degree course. No doubt, he has always lived in a council house or, doubtless, only does not live in a sink estate because he is not in the right band! Oh yes, Benn has had a tough old life.
'E were 'appy because 'e were poor.

It was a simple housewives' attitude from Mrs. Thatcher:
The obnoxious Lefties misbehaved, Mrs. Thatcher told them No, they played up more and got extra lippy to boot...
They got a slap!
