My blue 88 MIJ came with a Kahler pro tremolo - sort of along the lines of a FR - with a locking nut and everything. That piece of shit drove me nuts so when I found one of the original one piece PRS trems at a swap meet I put that on and got rid of the locking nut. It stays in tune like a dream. It sports a Duncan Lil Screamin Demon at the bridge and a Stew-Mac superswitch that let's me split the coils as well as a really cool Tele configuration.
Better that the USA from that year.
