Here we have 3 lifts -
2x passenger lifts from the late 80s/early 90s and a service lift from the 60s/70s that hasn't been updated at all.
But filming these wasn't quite good enough. It's always worth climbing those extra stairs at the top of any stairwell. I'm not even sure if the motor room door 'had' a lock on it at all! It was open, and it's my pleasure to show you around this delicious motor room!
Once again, another Schindler 'wheel' selector. This one is a little different from the one I filmed before:
watch?v=1AyLU7KHlS8
The one in this hotel is much higher, so that "inside" the selector there are more roller switches that represent each floor, and turn on or off depending which way the selector is turning - facinating stuff!!!
There's loads more also - those 80s lifts are in the motor room also, so I've filmed those also (love this Schindler chime!)
Oh, one more thing, sorry about the cheap sound effects! haha :D
Enjoy, as I filmed it for you guys! That stairwell was creepy by the way - see the dodgy handrail also!!

OMG!!! This is a fantastic video!
That is a good amount of action there at 7:35 hehe!
So thats how the system works when the cars didn't have the ramps and switches in the shaft! Cool video and good editing, very good annotations used there.
And yep I can imagine that cigarette at 13:21 being in a place in Arabia hehe.

Intresting to watch! i have some movies from machine rooms i loocked at in a theatre... two rooms... one with 2 Magnusson elevators from the 80´s, wich one is wery well used. and one from a 2-floor 1908 Graham Brothers elevator, wich is NEVER used... i was close to touch an button in the control pad, but i stopped myself, unsure if it really was an floor button or an control button of some sort... the grahams brothers itself is already uploaded. i will try to see some more elevators around...
