Electrification requires more oil to produce,so you can't win.

actually electrification uses less oil or any fuel than that required for seperate locomotives;
I hate electrification etc but it is more efficient to produce power centrally. sorry.

Britain's contribution for a better, healthier environment. A clear sign of the run down condition of the railroads where maintanance of rolling stock and track is less important than making profits. I love these engines, give them a new heart please before Brussels ban them off the tracks.
