This is a Super song, Super Singer...thanks for posting it! And it seems like most posters got the Streisand comments all wrong...She is not an ugly bitch, she is just a really really ugly bitch! Anyway, it is a shame that Robert passed away recently; what a class act he was! The world is less because of his passing...God Bless this America!

@shemstock Funny you mention that cause I was 8 years old in 1967 in Los Angeles and remember my Dad playing this album as me and my brothers were on the front porch of our house and I remember it being beautifully clear. What great days those were.

The same Daybreak motif from Daphnis & Chloe by Ravel was adapted for the musical "Golden Boy" as "Night Song," which was sung by Sammy Davis Jr.
So Ravel's music has legs! :)

@MrUnc82alum Thanks, it must be wonderful to listen to music with someone like you who has an open ear! A great comment. From a liberal who likes Toby Keith music sometimes. ;)

@keithcop Yes, you can sometimes judge a cover before listening, but remember that if album covers are marketing, then music is for listening.

I like to tell you all who don't think Robert dose'nt sing this song better than anyone you must be tone deaf

Thanks for posting this classic--and the album cover made me smile--all those great Middle of the Road singers on albums as giveaways at gas stations and appliance dealers. Just great, thanks!

Beautiful song!

Hey! For you folks into classical music, it is very obvious that this melody came from "Daybreak" from Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe. The beginning of this song is lifted directly from this Ravel piece and so follows the rest of this song. Having shown this, this is a great arrangement of Ravel's music. Robert Goulet's voice is good to hear again. I was living in New York at the time this musical played on Broadway. And I didn't see it. Wish I could return to those great years of Broadway!

About a year ago, a friend gave me this link, hoping I wouldn't like Robert. We were more rock & roll people. I listened then & just now--still as beautiful as ever! So THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING!

Thank YOU peteboy1113. I don't think I have Hollyridgestrings, but there are hundreds of records I haven't read the labels of. I'll keep the name in mind next time I'm digging for a new record to post.
