@jeremiahp I know I'm a little late, but the object off BJJ--presumably--isn't to "tap-out" an opponent, that's just the consequence if the opponent doesn't want to pass-out or have their joint snapped. In a real fight, if you rear-naked-choked someone, and they weren't really aware or prepared for it, they'd pass out in a matter of seconds. If they were put into an arm-bar, their arms would snap like toothpicks. I'm not a proponent of ground fighting, but it can be useful for the occasion.
@Hateyaall i'll correct you =] :"This is great for tournaments and competitions and also for street fighting, there is no rules. You kill or get killed."
They are just kids! if they fight with someone their age on the street they will kill and not get killed.
@rarrbear really? thats not even really sparring then, what if you choose a grappling art like mantis? makes sense though, you dont want someone to break an arm or get thrown.... but just strikes? that doesnt show much of the persons knowledge in the form.... at times.
@MightySunTzu you aren't allowed to grab kicks or hold when sparring in kung fu tournaments. it's all striking. as for the kids, give them a break they're just kids. as for the adults, i have no answer for you there. LOL. maybe they're beginners.
why arent they grabbing the kicks? why are they going straight at eachother? where are the angles and footwork? wtf is this? looks a lot more like tae kwon do. weird form of kung fu. omg those kicks, i dont know how to describe 'em. even the grown ups are using kicks a lot. weird.
Grappling and wrestling are the WORST for bar fighting! You A) Have little to NO room, B) Often have to fight mutiple people, C) are probably going to hit something hard and get hurt when you go down too.
