Amazing how good her voice was in retirement when this was recorded. She was such a great artist , phrasing , vocal colour, diction it is all there.

This is like listening to God. There can be no greater voice than Ponselle's. As with Caruso, there is Ponselle, then everyone else -- and having just listened to my own state's Elanor Steber sing this, I can say she sang wonderfully; it's just there's NO voice like Ponselle's.

better than steber whom i just heard. only a piano and great!!!! rated highest 11+ she is a new singer to me. great vibrato and tone i thought steber was great but rosa is better. ROGHARM bettest arrangement!!! Thank you poster found by mistake my good fortune!!! anymore by rosa singing in English? advise please thank you. she is great.

Cole Porter was a God of composition of "simple" songs - I adore evrything he ever wrote. Incredibly moving music, beautiful and personal. He and Harold Arlen are the two greatest american composers (Stephen Sondheim too :p)
