A crisp clear morning, the sun just breaking over the hill and a GWR Castle class loco leaving a trail of white steam against the clear blue sky, I must be dreaming!
The "Earl" is seen here near Somerton, north of Oxford and running along the "B&H" at Crofton.

  • That's what I call magic Bill, two superbly shot clips in near perfect conditions....Bob

  • @robmasterman Cheers Rob when I got to that first spot I thought it might be something special and to find Crofton towpath to be all but empty, well!

  • Your first shot - that's just gotta be one of the best shots of steam engine in action I've ever seen. Your camera work is great and the lighting...well, you'd only get that once in a blue moon... and lucky the fireman didn't dump a load of coal in the firebox! Big TU :-)

  • @HughFromAlice Thank you very much indeed for that. Looks like the coal got lobbed in the box at Crofton though.

  • Lighting, and reflections, to kill for!

  • @AndreiTupolev It was most certainly the best day I've been out for this year.
