An overview of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2010). Video highlights the growing number and great variety of certified products that use HomePlug powerline communication technologies for connected home and smart grid applications. HomePlug is a high-speed, easy to use technolgy that requires no new wires. Companies participating include Arkados, Asoka, Atheros, Coppergate (Sigma Designs), GigaFast Ethernet, Gigle Networks, Plaster Networks, Russound, SPiDCOM, STMicroelectronics, and Tatung. All products use already installed electrical wires to transfer both power and high-speed data.
