Rick Masters runs his 8-string acoustic guitar through its electronic paces accompanied by clips of Angels Nest in Taos. "I love the synthesized strings that accompany the guitar the best," Rick says. "They just carry me away. And there are little bells and taps and choruses that happen. I don't even know where they're coming from. I guess I'm triggering it but it's very mysterious. I just kind of turn myself over to it. It's like magic. And I wish I could say that Angel's Nest inspired me to write the music but actually I made it in the back of a trailer messing around with my 1980s rack which had a bunch of midi effect amps and compressors and a wonderful old Roland guitar synthesizer. It really fit perfectly, though, after I shot Angel's Nest for the first time back in '05, so I used it in this piece to help Robert Plarr and Victoria Peters get the attention they deserved for their incredible renewable mansion."
