  • I think I'd like to hear the actual cockpit voice recorder record. There's something very fishy smelling about this dramatization. (Even aside from the terrible acting.)

  • @0803049135 "I saw at least three different times from them."

Please list the incidents. That really just demonstrates the unreliability of people's impressions on these matters. Here is the actual 2002-2011 data:

    Carrier: American Airlines

    Flights: 7.85 million

    Fatal Events: 0

    Last event date: 2001

This gives them one of the lowest accident ratings in the industry over the 9 year period ending 12/31/2011. The 20yr data puts them about average.

  • The pilot error here is just ridiculous (also in addition to the pressure by the AA and long the day). No reason they should ever have attempted to land at this airport.

  • I can't believe pilots did this...

  • Cool show

  • @spiderali97 Did your flight go well? Lol

  • This was not about arming the spoiler. The situation went to hell long before the wheels hit the ground. The Captain should have and needed to have realized that landing safely at that location was not possible. He needed to divert to an alternate airport. That decision more than any other is why this plane went down and why he and some of the passengers are dead.

  • no compensation?

  • Pretty sure I was on a flight with similar pressures put upon them. We flew for St. John's Newfoundland other passengers had said that there was meant to be bad weather ahead. Well we broke through the ceiling and were buffeted by snow and high winds. Not sure how close we got to the runway I don't think we went below 3, 000 feet. Heaviest snowfall they had in a long time. The small embraer jet was swaying side to side. One passenger was sick because of it haha. Diverted to Stephenville.

  • OMG how many time does American Airline get plane crash????????? I saw at least three different times from them.
