Taking my newest bus out for a drive. The bus is a 1992 Ward Senator with DT-466C motor and Allison MT-643 automatic transmission

  • The C is also turbocharged, I'm not for sure about their major differences. I think it has to do with the addition of an intercooler or aftercooler

  • Nice. Little off-road action at 3:10

  • @mdbv25

It most certainly is not a TC/2000

  • Where did you get this bus?

  • chris, you rock! senators for life :).

  • @chrisls2006

The "C" actually indicates generational revisions made to the engine.

This particular revision, which goes back to 1983, was the final version of the classic 4.3" bore DT-466, as the 1994 and later DT-466s and MaxxForce DTs (and the larger 530/570 series) use the 4.59" bore.

  • The DT-466C was in production since the 1983 model year (fall 1982 production start), replacing the DT-466B produced from 1978 to 1982.

  • I gotta get down there and go for a ride! Definitely gotta do something in the spring or summer man.

  • Whats the difference between the DT-466-C and the DT-466-A (I know the A is turbo charged)
