  • I started playing drums after hereing Sandy Nelson play wipeout, that was back in the 60s sence then Iv'e played with some of the top country stars like Jonny Paycheck Bobby Helms, and others Iv'e met some great people and travel all over the world, I'm in my 60s now and still play at some of the clubs around here in Zephyrhills Florida. Thanks to the great drummer Sandy Nelson. ...Chick.

  • thanks for sharing a rare insight into Sandy. :D peace from PNW. Now you sir, should learn some swing annnot worry about speed. Speed kills.

  • Was just searchin' for a recording of teen beat & I stumbled onto this. I'm dumbfounded. It's really the MAN! He should be touring & doin' the late night talk show circuit or something. He deserves more recognition.

  • Great stuff. So glad I found it. Always loved drums and bought all his discs,so it's great to hear Sandy talk about it, all these years later.

  • John Bonham also played his straight eight notes with a bit of a swing feel to them!

"Half Swung" I like to call it!

    Thanks for the explanation Sandy!
