Martial Arts Combinations, including Wing Chun Exercises and Drils, traditional Elbows strikes.
EditCalasanz Mixed Martial Art Systemsby Calasanz Martinez on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1:14pm
Calasanz Mixed Martial Art Systems does not refer to a specific style of martial arts, but rather to a group of arts, each with a different point of view expressed by the different schools. To give some kind of brief description Calasanz Mixed Martial Art Systems includes the study of both unarmed and armed combative techniques, strategy, philosophy, history & bunkai. The idea is to become adept at many things, rather than specializing in only one. Posture, the art of distance, rhythm and flow -- those are the main points that would describe Calasanz Mixed Martial Art Systems in the best way.

While mastering Kata there are several different levels student enters. I write this from my personal experience while mastering different katas and absorbing myself and other students.

Level I -- is Shu (that can be translated as Embracing Kata.) This refers to Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga first pasture as well -- embrace your self

On this level student has no knowledge of kata or martial art in general. He or she has to surrender ego and be prepared to random repetitions of the same movements over and over again. Sometimes it requires overcoming physical, mental and emotional discomfort in order to achieve the most powerful practice. Eventually, after practicing it for some time it puts one on different level. For different students this time may last for different duration. On this level person tray to abide rules. But information is so waste that student very often has a hard time on abiding rules, brain is not ready to remember all of the rules, movements, pastures and mostly the rhythm of the art, which is the bas effort the beauty of martial art. The student learns pastures, rhythm of kata till the moment becomes organic in the physical body; this is when students learns all rules and becomes ready for the next level. The more student grows mentally the more challenging katas can be presented. Within this phase the pastures and rhythm are still "learned" by hard, predictable, student does not feel comfortable in breaking or changing any rules and putting his or her own intuition into movements. This phase require complete trust between student and sensei. Without such a trust student cannot have a true "Shu" and will not be able to leave it as well to get on higher level. "Shu" is the level where students get the structure of the Katas

  • I noticed in your sticky hands practice you were very tense and stiff. I believe you should be relaxed and loose. Be like wood have no ego.

  • @Thekaratekid101

Thanks for your comment but besides the natural power of Calasanz, I do want you to understand there is not another martial artist that can use soft and hard in a better way than Calasanz so you should check the video again, but still the way that Calasanz moves could be that you noticed some soruce of stiffness. Thanks again..
