@22thejew plebe means essential lower than low. It is used for the lowest class of cadets at both USMA and USNA however those at USMA are called cadets while those at USNA are called midshipmen. However each class has a different name. Seniors = First Class they are called firsties; Juniors=second class they are called cows; Sophomores=Third Class and are called Yearlings or Yuks for short. Freshmen=Fourth Class, lower than low, plebes which comes from the latin word plebian
