you don't happen to have the Corrs appearance do you?-- believe it was their first or second tv appearance ever in the states
-
@slobone yes -- it was horrible on FOX - it lost its feel and mojo and that devil may care loose feel! -breakfast time will always be an F/X show!! thanks for the wonderful clips
-
I always thought fx was owned by fox, i assumed fx stood for fox extra but maybe not, but I still have two T-shirts they sent me and I remember breakfast time calling me very early to chat during the show

Does anyone have the very first or very last show of Breakfast Time on fx recorded? If so, could you message me, would love a copy of it!

Breakfast Time was indeed unique! I had a chance to visit the apartment in October 1995 and that was one of the greatest days of my life.
Somewhere in my archive I have a tape of the original network feed from the from the show's debut on 06/01/1994. During most breaks the mics were still hot so you can hear the exchange between everyone.

My guess is that the plan was always to move this show to Fox, after trying it out on F/X. I think the budget was way too big for F/X, and so they couldn't sustain it there. (Remember this was before The Shield and Nip/Tuck made F/X a hit.) But when they moved it to Fox, the suits interfered too much and ruined it, cutting it to an hour and eventually firing the original cast. When Vicki Lawrence took it over, she couldn't handle the unconventional format and they brought in a studio audience.

I was the guy who ran those forums way back when. I just was looking at some old fX clips here on YouTube. I should upload some of my Breakfast Time clips.

I LOVED fx Breakfast Time, it felt like a home, you coud see other shows there too. I don't watch morning show now but would kill to see all the tapes of fx Breakfast Time again...

Oh yes, please post it. I also have the last show on tape. I remember watching it over and over several times during the summer of '96 while I eagerly awaited the arrival of Fox After Breakfast.
Did you run any of the Breakfast Time forums or newsletters back in the day? Just curious. I think there was a guy from Pgh that ran a forum specific to Breakfast Time... I think his names was James Orlowski??
No - I didn't do the forums or anything like that. I was still in high school then.

It certainly did. I'll be posting the clip from the very last show aired on fx. That will surely make you cry.
