As part of the 30th anniversary of the Toronto punk and new wave scene, original members of those early bands have been joining the Screwed on stage to play some of the classic songs from those days. ToBeScene's Aldo Erdic captured a lot of those cool performances, such as members from the "B" Girls doing Teenage Head songs and members from the Forgotten Rebels doing a Diodes song.

  • Where are the Dents? They were one of the best Toronto punk bands on that era. Who Needs Love. Teenage Lust. Blonde Beauty. Baseball Groupie. She's Got Tumours. Orgasmic Attack.

  • Agreed! This is only the tip of the iceberg. Toronto had a great scene back then that never got the recognition that New York or London did. Hey, Elka, if you can get a hold of any of the Dents, ask them about doing an interview at CIUT radio, to tell us their take on what it was like back then. Have them email me!

  • the hate were the best and most extreme of all these clowns from the toronto scene.

  • Why is John Borra listed as a former member of the Viletones? He wasnt apart of the original band, infact he didn't come on the scene til years later. Isn't he more famous for being in A Neon Rome?

  • @ChernozymVideo

Cool! I just met Cleave a few days a go, he was playing for a band called 'Luxury Bob' .... it was great !!!

  • Nope; that's the great Cleave Anderson! Did you even watch the video???

  • the great teddy fury on the skins?

  • This video is awesome, from the New Rose on Queen to Leckies burned up Amp to larrys and New York I was there but it took this video for me to remember..Thanks

  • Bear here-I've been diggin' the Screwed the last few months. Graffitti's is a great venue. Lots of old punk Buds hanging out and great tunes. I'm writing tons of heavy tunes at the moment. elhahunna-The Waterloo gig was a classic! Hallowe'en madness. The Existers were treated so well that we only wanted to do Uni's. And the crowds wanted to hear something new. I've been yakkin with Mike Dent but Evan is still hiding out on the Island. Scewed this Sat at Graffitti's. Be there my little R&Rollers!

  • I should have said that Waterloo gig was in 1979 in UW Village II.

  • I saw that Mike Dent did an interview for The Last Pogo Jumps again. Mike is in Facebook. I sent an email to Evan earlier in the year about The Last Pogo interviews. I have not had a response back from him for a few years when I tracked him down to give him a copy of the live band records I made in 1978.

If anyone has any photos of the Dents or biographical information I would greatly appreciate it. It's not for any profit use.

  • Barry, last time I met you was when the Existers played at the University of Waterloo. You gave me the Existers single. We had common friends in Evan and Eddie from Donview Heights/Fenside part of Don Mills. Last I emailed Evan a few years back he was still on Toronto Island.
