If you had to describe mitch richmond in one word it would simply be... underrated

Basketball-Reference has Mitch Richmond as the #88 greatest player in NBA history. Do you think he is a top 100 player of all time? I would say it's borderline, so #88 isn't a terrible place for him, and 20,000 career points doesn't lie.

Glen Rice also had a pretty shot too. He never shot of balance. He always went straight up in the air when he shot.

Mitch Richmond for THREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

its v similar to ray allen's, he just brings the ball closer to his head before he releases it.

i'm glad he was able to win a title with LA. class act.

@TobiasxFunke ha! he might be but he's not up there yet, let's see in a couple of years

I'm a young guy, but I think that Bernard King's jumper is one of the smoothest, prettiest shots ever. Definitely up there with Allen, Richmond, and Jordan. Man doesn't get the recognition he deserves- he ought to be in the Hall.

sorry whoever posted this video but if you actially look at MJ's jumpshot his was by far the prettiest I have ever seen. Not saying he was a pure shooter like RICH, and ALLEN, and people always forget Allen HOUSTON who was as good or better as either of those two. But to look at No-one looked prettier than MJ's from 93-98
Jordan and Reggie Miller said he was one of the hardest players to guard in the NBA. Jordan said he had almost no weaknesses in his game. That says a lot.

A great player on a terrible team. Won an All-Star MVP Award, never backed down to the league's greats. Jordan said Richmond was the only shooting guard that he couldn't stop in the paint. Truly one of the NBA's most underrated players... A true superstar by stats and a true professional on giving his career loyalty to Sacramento. Congrats on the jersey retirement, much deserved.
