Saw a full episode one time, but it was with Charlie Williams of course. Still a great host though, IMHO. Wish that they would make some sort of creation over here. The closest anyone has ever got is Bullseye, and that is still far off from the main point. Rest in peace, Bob Monkhouse and Charlie Williams.

  • @phil1958uk It was written by the late Jack Parnell a former Bandleader. Very catchy

  • Why 4.44? Why not 4.45? ATV's scheduling must have been completely insane or incrediblly pedantic.

  • @cozener1 Yes, I did.

  • This was obviously a b/w production because the end cap was the one they used at the end of b/w broadcasts, not the colour one which wer'e all familiar with. I remember the later colour series of Golden Shot with Charlie Williams and Norman Vaughn, I seem to remember Bob Monkhouse returned to do one more series in about 1975, which is the one I remember most, with Weh Weh Wong.

  • Ah my Mum was pulled out the audience on the Golden Shot show when she was a teenager and ended up winning a cool record player. I'm trying to find the episode with her on! Her names Bernadette if anyone finds it, msg me please. :)

  • Did anyone catch Bob's Liberace improv at the start?

  • Like the theme music!

  • I used to watch this when I was a kid with my parents in 1970....only because we had a colour telly.

  • @Danny7Ings You are funny, There were a lot of live shows from that studio in Birmingham, I know as I did many of them.

    Cheers.

    Jackie Lee.

  • @stuart121972 Well I never, I didn't think that anyone would remember that show, I am amazed. I must say It was great to see my name in the star position. They were indeed the days of wine and roses.

    Cheers'
