Information technology is becoming essential to getting a good education.

But, making computers available to everyone in school can present significant financial and operational challenges for local authorities.

A group of schools in Norway is demonstrating how a school-wide thin computing system can make personalised, computer-based learning available to all children. What is more, the switchover from PCs to a solution based on the latest Wyse technology is also delivering real educational benefits and helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the schools.

Vestby is a municipality located south of Norways capital Oslo. Serving a community of 13,000 people, the local authority or kommune is based in the main town of Vestby and manages eight schools with over 2000 students aged from 6 to 16.

Technologies used: Wyse Thinclient, Wyse Streaming Manager, Citrix XenApp, AppSense
