  • I like it how in Dark Crusade there is at least an attempt at justification for why servants of the God-Emperor are fighting each other (although admittedly no-one in Warhammer 40K needs much of an excuse), secrecy and pride for Marines and Guard respectively, whereas in Soulstorm it's essentially "people over there, go kill them". I prefer some reason behind my mindless violence.

  • the reason why the factions landed here is because they wanted to know why the soulstorm was appearing in the galaxy.

  • No, they shouldn't have.

It's stated in Dark Crusade and Dawn of War 2 that there's some secret on Kronus so important that the Blood Ravens can't let anyone discover it, least of all an ambitious young Imperial general reporting directly to Segmentum Command.

From the dialogue between Thule and Eliphas, and the general fluff of the chapter, it's very strongly hinted that the Blood Ravens are descended from the Thousand Sons traitor legion.

  • If there is another Expansion on DoW2, I wish next time it would be the Thousand Sons... so maybe, they will tell where did the Blood Ravens came from...

  • @RX117STARoTOAPRIME The reason why Relic/THQ chose Blood Ravens for ther games is that they are pretty much an empty page. There is so little information about them its easy to create whatever speculations you want. As far as I remember they are decended from a chapter that "Corvus" in their name which IS heretic and Corvus is Raven in latin. But it's never said in the cannon "Ravens are decended of herticis". It just says "We dont know"

  • @Echelon030 wait, I thought it was confirmed in a book that the Blood Ravens were descended from the World Bearer Legion. Someone said this earlier so I don't know. Any clue?

  • sad that the Chapter Master turned out to be heretical...

  • @Extraintrovert At first I also thought the justification is poor, but after playing all of Dawn Of War II games, I found out it is actually solid. *SPOILER ALERT* The Blood Ravens' Chaptermaster is a heretic, he told Thule to kill everyone in order to make offerings to Khorne. Being all secretive about his motifs fits perfectly with the story.

  • @Echelon030 i agree, many of their quote such as "knowledge is power" was original coming from thousand sons.thats why the inquisitor toth came to kronus after the purge of kronus.

  • @Extraintrovert "mindless violence" by definition has no reason behind it! lol!

  • Not to mention Kyras being corrupted now

  • @CockieKing space marines ftw. but the tau empire kicks some ass to lol.

  • @Echelon030 I think a little bit different. The Blood Ravens descent from "The Unknown Primarch" - (not Magnus from the Thousand Sons) - but I also agree, I believe the Blood Ravens began their journey, as a traitor Legion. Then, they "redeemed" themselves.
