습니다/ㅂ니다 attaches to verbs to give them a high formality.
Use this verb ending to express being polite when you've just met someone. You can lower it to Infinitive+요 once you get to know them. Use this form to talk about YOURSELF or general descriptions, not about the person you're talking about.
가다 to 갑니다
오다 to 옵니다
이다 to 입니다 (가타입니다 It's a guitar)
아니다 to 아닙니다
있다 to 있습니다
없다 to 없습니다
하다 to 합니다
되다 to 됩니다
주다 to 줍니다
받다 to 받습니다
보다 to 봅니다
TRY: 말하다, 읽다, 쓰다, 듣다, 살다! (remember, it's irregular), 자다, 먹다 입다, 신다, 놀다! in this form.
말합니다
읽습니다
씁니다
듣습니다
삽니다
잡니다
먹습니다
