In this video "IS SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES STILL FOR TODAY?" I address the simple question "Is the preaching of the gospel still for today?" In other words are there still WITNESSES for Jesus yet STILL today? You see Jesus COMMANDED the early church or his disciples to WAIT for the PROMISE of the BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit, so that they would be ENDUED with POWER from on high to be WITNESSES for him. Therefore if the early church needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to be bold and effective witnesses for Jesus, then it should be certain that the church of today also needs this same power or infilling of the Holy Spirit, which in the Bible clearly and always makes being filled with the Holy Spirit evident by the SPEAKING in OTHER TONGUES as the Holy Spirit gave utterance. In other words, when believers are filled with the Holy Spirit they SPEAK in OTHER TONGUES as the Holy Spirit gives them utterance. This is part of a video series to show BIBLICALLY that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have NOT CEASED, but rather are still present in the church of today and are for all BELIEVERS. So be not faithless but BELIEVING, RECEIVE you the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus.

  • 1.Speaking in tongues refreshes us

    Isaiah 28:11-12

“For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.”

“To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing:..”

    2.Speaking in tongues encourages us

    1 Corinthians 14:4

“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue EDIFIETH HIMSELF;..”

3.Speaking in tongues builds our faith

    Jude 20

“…building up yourselves on your most holy faith, PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST,

  • @praizingHIM Thanks for your encouraging comments both to me and to Corinth777. We all need to be built up or "charged up" like a battery, especially when discouragement come from those who are close to us and in whom we trust. Did you know praying in tongues also drives away physical pain? Our God is truly the God of all comfort. Thanks again for your positive and uplifting comments. I think I will make a video that covers the BENEFITS of prayiing in OTHER TONGUES. Your brother in Christ, Mark

  • @Corinth777 Paul closes the chapter by saying, “Covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak in tongues.” Why?

Because the bottom line is edification, and we must edify others and ourselves! The purpose of speaking with tongues is to refresh us, encourage us, and build our faith.

  • @praizingHIM I agree, for me there is no better or quicker way to build myself back up than to pray and worship in other tongues. So yes one of the purposes of praying or singing in other tongues is to build ourselves up as we are taught from Jude 20. The verses before warn us of those who SEPARATED themselves BECAUSE they did NOT have the Spirit and MOCK others.

  • Did you know that Speaking in Tongues is also a sign?

A SIGN From God to the unbeliever.

1 Corinthians 14:22 (King James Version)

22Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

  • @praizingHIM I have heard some wonderful testimonies about believers speaking forth a message in tongues and someone would interpret, then another would come forward and commit themselves to the Lord, because the message in this other tongue happened to be in this person's native language who came forward to be saved. So this message in tongues was a SIGN for the unbeliever who then was pricked in his heart to accept Jesus as his saviour.

  • @AMATTEROFTRUTH 1 Corinthians 14:12-15 "Even so you, forasmuch as you are zealous of spiritual gifts (other tongues) seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church. Wherefore let him the speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I PRAY in an unknown tongue my spirit prays, but MY understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I WILL PRAY with the spirit (in an unknown tongue), and I WILL PRAY in MY UNDERSTANDING ALSO. I will SING with the spirit, and understanding also

  • @Corinth777 The term "unknown" tongue simply means a language that you did not learn from man. An unknown tongue is what the Bible refers to as OTHER tongues whereby the utterance, abilty or words to speak forth this language that you yourself did not learn from man. And yes some call this other tongue their "prayer language". Paul teaches us, the church by his own personal EXAMPLE of praying of how to PRAY in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives us the utterance or words to speak forth. (continued

  • @Corinth777 Have you ever witnessed to an athiest? If so, what approach did you take? And were you successful in getting them to believe in God?

  • @Corinth777 Yes, when a believer brings forth a message in other tongues to the church, then most definitely there should be an interpretation given, because it is a message to the CHURCH. However simply PRAYING in other tongues at home there is no need to interpret, unless you yourself desire to know what you prayed to the Almighty God the Father. Sometimes when I pray in tongues I may know WHO I am praying for, but NOT know for what. And other times I may know WHAT or WHY, but NOT know WHO.
