This is my video rendering setup with an Antec 900 case, Gigabyte EX38-DQ6 mobo, e2160 CPU OC to 3.0, 4GB G-skill ram at 4-4-4-12 timings, 850 watt rosewill PSU, some lame GPU, DVD DL burner, standard SATA drive and Windows XP Home.

  • im getting something similiar, antec 900 and the thermalright cooler, any problems fitting those in the case? Im getting a pretty big graphics card so im worried, it's the 295 gtx

  • with the ex38-dq6 gigabyte mobo, I was able to install the heatsink horizontally with room for a fan on the bottom. The antec 900 has that fan on the side that comes close. It really depends on where the CPU socket is on your motherboard. Im sure you will be fine, but Im not 100% sure.

The case can handle a large graphics card and it even comes with a plastic spacer to attach the card to the case towards the front. You will be fine.

  • :)

vid like mine : 1.3250 my rev l2

nice oc what's you temp in load now?

  • I just tested it and its running 32 C idle and 50 C load with fans on low. Whats yours? Whats your board bios settings. Same CPU? OC?

  • thanx for the reply, appreciate it.

  • using the e2160, good processor. just starting to overclock. Thanks for the info, Ive been looking into the ultra for a while, i think ill get that when i ramp it up :)

did you lap ur proc though?

  • mycpu temp high maybe up to 78 per core by orthos

    sometime stable somtime not1.3750 clock:2.9multi:9

    i forget fsb

i think almost pass occt mix 2h test

    but always fail in orthos

i change my cpu hsf to an old model cooler master i think hyper 48 hsf all cooper 4 heatpipes 3400 rpm :) 4rd fan wire but pwm function not working so if i want lower rpm i change to 3pin outpot and change voltage percentage

cooler master about 7'c@3.4rpm less than intel

my case no fans expect one exhust on top

  • Yes, it was the crazy cool heatsink. It was held on by 5 screws. Its not hard to take off. The board comes with extra screws to resecure the NB Heat sink back on.

  • By back heatsink you mean that crazy cool thing right? Was that very difficult or no?

  • It fit fine, the back heatsink needed to be removed though. There is plenty of room with this motherboard and heatsink. It just depends if your case can fit it.
