@dominicanhop1 dayum, you could actually distinguish some of the music over that horrendous noise? :P actually, that's a pretty interesting comparison...in haitian konpa(compas) music, it's traditionally the guitar rather than the piano(as in merengue) which simultaneously fleshes out the hamony and the rhythm with awesome syncopated arpeggios and stuff — and yes, it's also usually a bit slower than the frenetic tempo of a lot of merengue ;)
