@TheRealVonHamish for me it makes sense that both rock and r&b influenced his vocals and his music in general. A good singer/musician listens to many genres because they all have good stuff to offer. And Chris is damn good. I, for example, have both Celine Dion and Nightwish in my laptop. I have both Marylin Manson and Mozart. I love rock but I enjoy a good ballad. I don't mind of Chris listens to electronic, or even pop. He's still great.

@jetrage69 I read an interview before that Cornell was always a fan of old R&B music and that's what he was influenced by with his vocals. Rather than Led Zeppelin like a lot of people assume. Don't know how much of that is true but it makes sense. Great musician either way!

Damm, what happened to Chris Cornell? This guy went from Seattle Grunge rock hero to Audioslave rock god then on to some strange solo pop music now back to Soundgarden in the year 2012?? This guy has had an interesting career :)

@caueputtinato look in the lyrics, it has lots of meaning, his acoustic version on his "Songbook" album is superb.
