This is Wolf's cover of the song Alma Mater, originally by Moonspell, a band I love. I thought it was a very unique cover, and I was kinda surprised to see it wasn't already on Youtube... Okay, not really.
It comes from Century Media's cover album, called Covering 20 Years of Extremes. Original name, right? /sarcasm

  • It's pretty good.Though, I don't think it's possible to compare it to the original.. The original is away better .. This really makes Alma Mater having other style.. Even more in the Lusitanian side.. What did they to the Portuguese part ? Swedish, right?

    I still think it's good..

    Alma Mater !

Yeah, I listen to the original a lot more, but I learned of Wolf from this song and, by themselves, they're a pretty good band. Kind of generic, but good. And I think they kept the Portuguese lyrics, at least that's what it sounds like to me. You'd have to look up the lyrics and I'm just too lazy right now. :p

  • @NecroFusion They kept all the lyrics except for the Portuguese ones , I'm portuguese and I don't get a thing of what they said there.

I don't know the band, but I liked the cover.

  • @Kidox110 Ah, okay. I thought they did... Hmm... Well, the most knowledge I have of Portuguese would be my four years taking Spanish, but they're two languages. Mesh better than most, but still damn different. xD

Wolf is actually a pretty good band. Check out their album Ravenous. A bit cheesy but it's good enough to ignore.

  • its unique like you said thanks for uploading it here =) But Its a bit too fast in my opinion and the soft vocal destroys the melancholy of the original song a bit.5/5 anyways

  • It is a bit fast and I still prefer the original a lot more, but it's one of those covers that has the balls to make the song into their own style.

  • You gotta love the "portuguese" parts

  • VIRANDO COSTAS AO MUNDO!!!

  • "your lost glory, well regain or die..." especially on this part (but the whole song mostly) lost it's authority on this version.. Moonspell's versions uses imperatives, on this one it's like meeting some friends into a bar and cheering before or after a beer... I'm not saying i completely dislike this version.. it's fun and enjoyable on some nights but Alma mater will always be Moonspell's trade mark

  • I dont listen Moonspell nor Wolf, Its a great song. But I can honestly say the guitar work on Wolf's play is greater than Moonspell. But in other way I mean vocal side Moonspell absolutely awesome. So in fact both band's members should come together to play this. It will be awesome.

  • buen tema del saludos desde quito

  • so weird, i like more the original one. MOONSPELL rules.

  • this cover is so strange!
