It is the mission of Brooklyn's historical Paul Robeson Theater to enrich and strengthen the community through art, culture and education. It was her aunt's dying wish - and now Dr. Josephine English's niece is on a mission to save her crumbling Fort Greene theatre.
"It was her dying wish to me: 'Get that theater up and running,'" said Joanne English Rollieson, 50, whose aunt, a prominent obstetrician who delivered Malcolm X's six children, died last month at age 91.
English, who founded the Paul Robeson Theater in an old Greene Ave. church building in 1980, had run short on money for its upkeep.
