  • @siklaudius Hi. Man-o-live, I was coming on strong that day. I agree with what you say. I do play in a band called Strings And Pipes. We have a few vids on Youtube. I have a bunch of Lunasa CD's and they have inspired a lot of our playing, including music from the other Celtic areas, including the most often forgotten one, the USA.. (I'm from Ireland).

  • @Heath75032 yes, Lunasa do play irish music. but the first tune is indeed French-Canadian,It's called La Fleur de Mandragore. Lunasa also play Cape Breton music ( also canadian), a bit of Asturian ( Spanish Celtic) and Breton music. So their music, altohugh mainly irish. does include other flavours.

Are you a player yourself ? If so, you'd know that lots of Celtic players from around the world include these other genres in their repertoire. very common. Oh, and Scottish too.

  • Great tunes. The dancing is reminiscent of the original Scottish Highland step dancing which is still practised in Nova Scotia.

  • lunasa rulz

  • Stupid comment... USA isn't it?

  • ouff... not at all! French canadian music is a direct developement of breton's music and irish music. In Nova Scotia, their trad music come directly of Scottish music with their amazing music in Cape Breton. And if you listen to Allard, pitou boudreault or famille Verret, you will see that it is not the same sound at all than irish or scottish!

  • wish we could see the dancers better.

  • son los putos amos¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • French Canadian fiddle music is a direct development of Sottish music anyway; French Canadian music isn't "original".

Lunasa play great music no matter where it comes from.
