The wild geese was the name of a brigade in the French and Spanish army that were all Irish mercenaries in the 1700's

Coincidentally, We have a Richard from Ballyhale in our parish cemetery in Vermont.
He is a Delehanty who died circa 1870s.

A Parent should never have to Bury their Children.. Never, No matter what.
I care not for myself,. but for my Kin. i would give all. After all, My Kin gave me what I have.. The guts to speak and the hope to make a change.

I watched this and had tears running down my face . My ancestors are also from the Kilkenny area of kncktapher. Their names , Richard & Mary. Richard was 1 of 13 children , 12 of which left for the USA. Ihave dreamed the connections to Ireland my whole life , and someday I will return ( having never been there it may sound strange to say " return" but those of us withthat connection understand it.) Thank you so much for this tribute to our Irish families and everything they went through.

Yes my Italian grandparents went through the same thing.Left family in Italy and came here.First my grandma Ada then her beloved fiance Manlio who gave up wealth to marry her. That's what the parents said.If you go to America you will leave all this behind. He fenced and was an Italian policeman there and all to become a humble house painter here in US with 6 children that lived but a baby that died and an eight year old too.Now here I am with all my mom's family gone.I want to make her proud.
I've just discovered your new music and videos after being an avid Mason Dixon fan years ago. Beautiful. Is there a CD of your music available?

no CD as of yet. We're getting Jerry involved with these songs, so it will be a quasi- Mason Dixon project after all

thanks....this is the most true story I've told.I found out my great-grandparents names from a tombstone in Ireland and imagined what they must have felt, having almost all of their children go so far away. Two seemingly insignificant people are responsible for so many descendants on both sides of the ocean.
