Doug Christie discusses a Quebec controversy over a 160-year old editorial, as well as the percentage of monies given to Quebec to celebrate Canada Day, and identifies the means by which the federal system keeps Quebec in confederation.
@sinclaire70 Are you sticking with that illusion regarding separation? There is no need to be anxious about the matter. It will not occur. It is simply too late now. Our leaders, grandparents and their neighbours could have pressed for it, however, they blinked and became complacent. Too little, too late and too bad now.
Little Doggie writes this all this for me. He has nothing else to do except stalk nice people, such as I, a fellow Quebecker with impeccable French Canadian ancestry. What does he want from me? I'm not gay, which I think he wants from others. I've advised him to seek out a Montreal website for lonely hearts looking for friends online.
@sinclaire70 Silence? little doggie. have you been euthanized? There are far too many strays on the streets. It's indeed regreatable if that was your fate so regreatable.
@sinclaire70 Well, Little Doggie, I see you are misbehaving still. While I was away on holiday, I didn't see any need any reason to think of you. I don't agree with Royalist on some things. There will be no war, no conflict of merit or division. We are too small, too weak and passive to support a mandate for separation. It is simply too late to seek isolation from our neighbouring countrymen.
I'm sorry to dispell your ambitions. Quebec is dear to my heart. The struggle is over now. Thank you
@sinclaire70 No it is you who will be burned alive. I am not spreading hate about Quebec, why would I, it was created by the BRITISH in 1763 and again in 1867. No Canada will NOT die in Quebec, what will die is treasonos Quebecois traitors who dare to demand independence from Canada. I hope you know that war will break out just like what happend to the United States and this war will be bloody and Canadian patriots will win and exterminate the seperatists of Quebec once and for all.
@sinclaire70 Quebec willll NOT decide anything. I recomend you read the history of the American Civl War (1860-1865), When the rebellious south tried to seccede from the Union, Abraham Lincoln declared war on them and sent in the federal army and navy to crsuh them. The federal army and navy destroyed the confederate rebels and left many of its cities burned to the ground and 50.000 southern civillians dead. This will happen to Quebec if it tries UDI. Quebecois traitors deserve nothing but DEATH
@killerguitar44 Listen to me you shithead, Quebec belongs to Canada and to Anglo Canadians. Anglo Canadians have everyright to ownership over Quebec by the very fact that France ceading New France to Great Britain in the Treaty of Paris (1763), because France lost and Great Britain won the French and Indian War (1755-1763). Great Britain did give French Canadians a choice, they can accept British rule or go back to France. I say it is time to send "French Canadians" like you back to France.
I don't know if I agree this video or not. I'm from Quebec and I am a separatist. I always thought it was a shame for Quebecers to always ask for more and more money. And it's pretty obvioous that this money comes from the West because this is where the cash is, in Canada.
I never thought that Canada was terrible for Quebec. I think that Canada would be better without Quebec, and Quebecers would be happier living on their own. We should be all good neighbours.
If you read French, Mr. Christie, you should read the eye-witness account of the so-called "rebellion" that took place at that time at St-Eustache. The leader of the rebellion was a foreigner, the "patriotes" with the caps, pipes and mitts were drunken bums; they went out at night and kidnapped the residents at gunpoint out of their beds and marched them to a location to make it "look" like there was a large gathering rebelling. Still doing it today... they call it referendums.
