This is the Leatherman Surge retailed at $89.99 It's a very useful knife. It has a very nice reputation and it's one of Leatherman's best multi-tools according to Leatherman and myself. I have alot of prior knowledge with Leatherman Multi-Tools and this is among the best. I love the durability, rust-proof , stainless steel handles, exchangable bits and saw/file, and the nice nylon sheath with the option of a leather sheath. All around I would give this Leatherman multi-tool a 9 out of 10. I love this knife for just about every kind of use. There are, however, a few negative things about this multi-tool (the key word is few) I. E. It is very heavy, weighing in at 12.6 Oz with the sheath (nylon) and 11.7 Oz without the sheath. Another small negative comment about the Leatherman Surge is the size, the sheath, witch is close to the size of the multi-tool, is 3 inches across and 5 1/2 inches tall. I bought this knife for $82.00 at Al's ArmyNavy Store on French Ave. in Sanford Florida.

  • Which are the best / differences among Leatherman

    Wave

    Charge AL

    Charge ALX

    Charge TTI

    ???

  • @urkingod Well that's an opinion. It depends on what jobs you will need it for. The surge has the most tools other than the power 300 tool that leatherman recently came out with. You can carry the surge (18 tools) and only use 2 of them for the rest of your life. Or you could get a squirt which has alot less and need to use more tools then are on the squirt. so it depends. I always like to have more than what you think you may need. I'd go with the knife with the most tools usually.

  • @HCDDWarhero That is a very good point. I have decided to go with Surge for my car, and Charge TTi for back pack for survival / emergency, etc. Along with full survival knife.

  • @urkingod Great idea. That what I do too. When I go on a hike I will carry a pocket knife in my pocket. A survival knife in my pack and the multitool will either be on my belt or in my pack.

  • btww your using the ruler the wrong way your suppose to make the handles straight like a line and the plier head facing up

  • @stun279 It doesnt matter.

  • 420hc is 420high carbon wich is what is on my wave so not very good for rust but a good blade

  • Surge ROCKS! I love my mossy oak Surge!

  • @stun279 well it may not be flat but to me tht looks accurate enough

  • @slice0001 his way is a bit inaccurate and it wouldnt be flat like a ruler.

  • @stun279 dude either way you would get a better measurement measuring the way hes doing it

  • @slice0001 the big gap is supposed to be the 4" mark... measure it with a ruler and see who's right.
