Gundam Evolve 5 RX-93 Nu Gundam

U.C. 0093, events in the movie Char's Counterattack.

This episode shows a bright alternative scenario for Quess Paraya from Char's Counterattack, as Tomino's attitude during Char's Counterattack was rather grim and depressing.

The episode begins with Quess, who had apparently used the NZ-333 Alpha Azieru to severely damage Hathaway Noa's RGM-89 Jegan. Afterwards Amuro Ray in his RX-93 Nu Gundam has a Newtype reaction to her and confronts her. He accuses her of not understanding Hathaway's feelings, but Quess doesn't listen and attacks him.

However Amuro is able to trap her inside the Fin Funnel's beam barriers. Afterwards they hear Hathaway who tells Quess not to be angry, and Amuro tells Quess that Hathaway isn't dead. Thanks to this and Amuro's words she calms down and she finally uses the Alpha Azieru to rescue Hathaway.

This episode was written by Yoshiyuki Tomino, whose change of outlook used this animation to give Quess a happy ending as an alternative to her tragic death in the movie.

@betacrest10 Amuro is a clever bastard. Which is why he's probly one of the best pilots in the franchise - He might be a newtype and thus has an edge, but he uses his head for more than keeping his helmet on.

I love this alternate story line , it expresses the potential of communication and understanding from heart to heart rather than mind to mind alone. Newtypesare awesome ^_^

I'm at a crossroads with Tomino's new endings...I didn't like Zeta's New Translation endings, but Quess and Hathaway were the most annoying characters in Char's Counterattack, so I find this ending to be much better.

That and I think Hathaway's Flash was fucked up.

@Taov001 but as stated in the movie , his actions were to spur the human race into space that they would become or evolve into newtypes so that such events would not repeat themselves

@AlfredLee0425 thank you :) i very rarely get to have these conversations with people about gundam and its events and am glad that i get to share my thoughts on a better level , kamille and fours case to char and amuro being very tragic as it was as char said " and history repeats itself " , im not surprized that char would still hold the grudge and quite honestly i think it was his whole reason to continue fighting in hopes that he would settle things with amuro

@Taov001 yes, from CCA we can know that Char see Lalah as his mother. To Amuro, Lalah is a confidant. In U.C.0087 both Char and Amuro take Four and Kamille's case as continuation of the tragedy and tried to stop this(however in many video games Four can be a ally of A.E.U.G, which is a good thing). So it surprised me when I watch CCA and find that Char still bear grudge with Amuro.

It's amazing to see that someone in Canada, I mean in western country, knows such a lot information about Gundam :)

@AlfredLee0425 yes i agree that they can be , espically when manipulated , such as the case with puru by glemmy toto and to a greater extent puru 2 but thats a different story , lalah's death was a staggering blow to i think in more ways to char then amuro i say this in line with amuro as she served as in a way a surrogot mother to char but to amuro its hard to say , yes it did hurt him to accidently kill her but not on such a level as char i think personally

@AlfredLee0425 , actually , i found that Quess's emotional involvement with certin CCA men was chaotic , she bounced from char to amuro then to char again to amuro again then finally to hathaway but only after he was shot down , useually with the case of char and amuro it was when other female characters were present then i found quess would get aggressive , honestly i think this makes for a good discussion
