Another SVGBUILD animation.

Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu from Neon Genesis Evangelion. These fan-art images were hand-drawn by myself in Inkscape, then animated using my SVGBUILD script. The video was cut in iMovie HD, screencapture in iShowU. The song is Jyukai's Himegoto ("Secret").

  • Her breasts... :)

Btw, doesn't SVGBUILD cheat a bit on the steps? I remember you having the blonde drawn first, or does the result depend on the settings?

  • The svgbuild draws things according to depth, not the order I originally created the elements (the svg does not keep track of that). So all things in a layer or group are done consecutively, then the layer or group that is closer or farther. I draw all inking in one layer, painting in another, and so on, which is why it comes out that way in the animation.

Now I *did* cheat here-- I skip the buildup of the spear and NERV logo, so it would fit the song (and the spear is kinda boring to watch).

  • That was really fun to watch !

  • u didn't save it? :'(

  • Do you draw your works directly on Inkscape or do you make a sketch on paper or on a raster program first and then ink and color it on Inkscape?

  • Holy balls batman, that was incredible... and catchy. ;) lmao

  • Well done! Nice work :) I will try to create my next project using this svgbuild tool... I need more practice, but the result is worth it.
