Just fitted a new can and K7 header pipe to my K8 GSXR 750, doesn't sound too bad but needs mapping!

  • did you get any f1 light when you swapped the k7 headers

  • I did get an FI light but that was sorted out when I had the Power Commander installed.

  • It's not a full system, it's a set of standard Suzuki K7 headers with an Akrapovic Carbon slip on can for a K7! You can even refit the exhaust valve if you like but I just unbolted the entire system from the bike and had the power commander fitted!

Bike was sold about 5 months ago.

Miss it a bit but happy with my new bikes.

  • what is the purpose behind fitting the K7 headers on the newer bike? I have 2 buddies and one has a k6 and the other a k7.. to trump them I was looking for a k8/k9 :), but why go back a year?

  • The K7 headers are only bolted to the cat (collector box) whereas the K8 are welded! The Akro can is from a K7 and bolts onto the headers so rather than cut the K8 headers I fitted K7 which are exactly the same!

  • that cool mate ive got a k8,looking for some cheap k7 headers, guess both 600 and 750 ones are the same.i read somewere u do away with the o2 sensor as the power commander fits in its place ,let us know mate cheers

  • That's exactly right.

Mine is for sale now; £5500!

  • Do you have experience on 600s? Just wondering what the difference between a 600 and 750 is. I'll likely upgrade straight to a 1000 when I can but the 750 option is very cool.

  • have you had any problems with the bike after all this cuz i'm geting ready to do it this week end?

  • is this a shorty ? if it is I have the same exact bike with same pipe muffler

  • @salchipapa8000 you could, however, it is ill advised to do so. You'll get engine backfire, jumpy throttle, and lots of wear on the engine. Remapping isn't just done for performance, its also done because the engine needs to have the right ratio to run properly.

  • @darkprince64 ahh, i see , thank you very much , so an u say , wen modifying the fuel map, can u even control ur fuel economy by making it run " leaner " per say ?

  • Next to a yoshi this can sounds amazing.

  • @salchipapa8000 fuel mapping. When you modify the air/fuel mixture, the engine needs (generally) to be remapped to either run richer (more fuel) or leaner (less fuel) depending on slip on cans, full system, air filter, etc.

  • wut do u mean needs mapping ? excuse my ignorance but i really wanna learn about motorcycle engines since i have a motorcycle and have no engine knowledge wut so ever ..
