  • the singers / choire have so many Unnecessary movements, they don't flip the pages at the same time. very disturbing! it's like they're singing a school intermission number. They should hold their heads still with their eyes only moving as they read the lyrics.

  • @radzkieable You are quite right, of course. That is good advice for any choir, of any size, of any level.

Still, these are mostly amateurs singing for the pure joy of it. One can always demand a higher degree of professional movements from professionals, I think.

How do you like the tempo and the sound, please?

    David

  • @DavidLundSweden Seems like 1st Rehearsal. the music started with the choire sitting. Then they do not stand all at the same time. Songbook covers should have been white, to present a clear and pleasant all white choire. This is a March piece, but the 4/4 or 1/2 Beat is not sustained. Tempo is erratic, not consistent. sound is not that Drammatic. Overall, do not sound EPIC in proportion.

  • @radzkieable The choire consists of several choires from all over Sweden which have rehearsed on theire own for a long time, then rehearsed all together at the venue for two days.

I fully agree about the songbook covers: white would have been preferrable.

Personally I prefer the way this conductor does it. It is, as you pointed out, usually done in a much more even tempo and with less emphasis, but to me this interpretation has artistic merit over the ordinary.

  • @LundChoralFestival1

Thanks. How about adding a few info to that website of yours?

What is the program for the week?

If I want to watch Aida and Va' Pensiero, when is that gonna be?

Is there a way to buy ticket on-line? If not, how?

    thank you.

  • @radzkieable

    The only strange things are

    - they all stand up when the music already started

    - that guy in a ghostbusters-like suit walking around the orchestra to film

    - the rightmost trumpeter has the attitude of someone who's about to go fishing

    Besides that... it's GREAT.

  • The music is quite OK a good orchestra and the sound of the choir is good. but please no heads looking around on eachother. It seems that they in fact not are used to perfom.

  • Very bad disciplin on the Choir.

  • un parmi mes opéras préférés !!! avec ces nouvelles "marche des esclaves" toujours d'actualité !!

  • @Smitty150 I haven´t removed this comment, and I can see no reason why it should have been removed at all.

Please feel invited to post again!
