This Thresher Shark was caught and landed on kayak single handedly. Weighs over 100 pounds and measures 8ft 11 inches. It was caught on a fly lined big live mackerel as seen on it's lips. Made fish taco out of it tasted great.

  • hey jc spectacular video. Just a quick question today i was fishin 5 miles off dana point. I had 20lb test and a salas iron on. A 5 or 6 foot shark showed up right off the stern i had a chum bag in the water. I threw my lure in and the shark took it it ran about 100 feet which was all the line i had on my reel and snapped the lure off how can i avoid this next time?

  • @thirstybest

I use 30lb monofilament main line, 40lb fluorocarbon leader. That should be strong enough to handle 99% of fish and sharks out there. No need to go more than that.

  • Take it easy bub! Thresher's arent endangered yet. Its still legal to fish and KEEP them. Only recently have they been listed as a species that could be listed as endangered species. Also if you haven't noticed it seems that this fellow releases most of his sharks quick and painlessly. Get your facts right before you go threatening people.

  • damm i can tell your a seasoned fisherman nice

  • those taste soooo good

  • ur one bad ass fisherman!!!!

  • @RaginDomino shut up. they arent endangered its just a bunch of liberal hippies who want to end sportfishing. I say kill and eat as many as you can while it still lasts

  • @81pluto i like shark fin soup its pretty amazingly delicious

  • This is a great fishing video. I can't want to get myself a yak

  • your ridiculous talk about blowing things out of proportion do you even know how many threshers there are off of southern california?

  • you need to relax 81pluto, if a man catches a fish he can decide if he wants to eat it or not. If you made it your goal to save the planet, then injoy those veggie burgers and shut up

  • That's the stupidest fucking comment I've ever heard! EVER!!! Whether he eats it or not it doesn't make it right! Millions of sharks are being killed every year and for what??? Sport? Food? Fuckin' shark fin soup??? People need to wake the fuck up and realize that killing sharks at the rate it's going will completely DECIMATE our oceans! Not to mention everyone's irrational fear of sharks is killing one of the oceans' most beautiful creatures! It's honestly very sad.
