So I live in a Spanish speaking country. And I've been told that the Korean double consonant is like the Spanish voiceless sound (k is not aspired in Spanish). So what I do is pronounce the ㅋ as the English k (I'm fluent in English) and the ㄲ as the Spanish k. Now my problem begins with the ㄱ, because as I've been told, when coming at the beginning of a word the ㄱ is pronounced as a k and that kind of confuses me considering I would pronounce it just as the double ㄲ. The s blow my mind tho.

@KrhystalZz no.. the stronger pronunciation is the S, not after it. Double consonants are romanized as double (ex. ㅃ = PP, ㅆ = SS)

IS the stronger pronunciation always after S?

wow this is very useful!! thanks for making this video!
I'm afraid it's exactly the opposite. Ky would be an aspirated k in English, while the k in sky is not aspirated and is softer.

@kanadanoarekkusu Thank you for pointing out potential mistake. I am not an expert at all in language but it seems that ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅉ, ㅃ are 'tensed' sound - no initial air puff. Whereas ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅊ, ㅍ are aspirated sound. So, I am not really sure. I guess, if normal English speaker think that the actual 'ㄲ' sound is closer to K in Key than K in sKy then I am in trouble^__^.

I don't get it, a double consonant sounds the same as a single consonant to me

@asiandriverNZ I think they sound so similar too. However, they are different. I am very sorry but I am not capable of giving you proper pronunciation tips. I guess I should ask people in twitter and if I can, I will get back to you.

Is it "Komapseumnida" aldo Thank you?
And in "Kam-sa-ham-ni-da", last consonant in third syllable (합) is Biyop but it reads as M(like in "mom"? Is this exception or what:?
