Yours Is No Disgrace - Yes Cover (Rickenbacker 4001 Bass)

I wanted to give the old Rickenbacker some attention, so I felt it appropriate to learn a tune that originally used this fine instrument. More than that, it is "period correct", as Chris Squire played a similar model on the 1971 Yes studio album titled "The Yes Album", which this song originates.

Other popular players of this particular bass include Geddy Lee (Rush), Paul McCartney, Cliff Burton (Metallica) and "Lemmy" Kilmister (Motorhead).

This song was written as a message to returning Vietnam soldiers.
The suggestion is...governments fight wars, not men and women - therefore "yours is no disgrace".

@warmaster2006 too right mate. you know, the guitarist I played with some years ago hated it when I insisted on using my 4001. I think it intimidated his stratocaster. The rick just looks so cool and the sound of it just blew the guitar away. here's to the 4001, king of bass guitars! and bollocks to anyone who doesn't agree.
