One of the most important aspects of freestyle is sometimes the toughest one to get right. Taking your time to really feel the catch is a very smart idea.

  • there's NO SUCH THING as "freestyle" stroke" that is an event the stroke is called "crawlstroke( six kicks American and two kicks Australian. The freestyle event just means one can swim any stroke style. The crawlstroke is fastest which is why swimming competitors chose to swim it. Competitors even in the Olympics can swim breast stroke during the free style even but they surely finish dead last.

  • @PrayerCoach - Of course, technically speaking, you're correct. But since the current understanding that freestyle is what we're showing, education is about cutting through misunderstanding, or further education just to define a point. I try not to get caught up in definitions, but rather, get useful points across. Thanks for the post though.
