This was another video that I produced for my family and friends a couple years ago. I wanted it to show the heat of summer in Oita (but the sweat on the bed is FAKE... just so you know). I wanted it to be different from the winter video, so I never talked directly into the camera in this version.

The effect was that the video was a lot less "friendly". So, in this re-edited version, I shorted the video considerably (down to only 16 minutes) and added some green screen shots of me from 2007 answering some of the questions about Japan that I received.

Thus the video comes out a bit eclectic... but hopefully helpful for prospective English teachers heading to Japan.

Thanks to all those that asked questions about teaching in Japan! Technomewmew was the winner with over 40 questions in one message.

  • Well done. I leave to teach in Japan in one month...but I'm told I have to wear a suit and tie everyday (university job). I taught for one year in Korea and was allowed to dress like you did in class. Fortunately, I'll only be there in the Fall/Winter, so the sweat factor is negated.

    Great vid!

  • beatleshrink: Which university? Grats on the job!

  • nice

  • such a good guy

  • Could u also talk about modern jaoanese culture? trends? entertainment? food? all that stuff. it might be interesting.

  • Very nice video, I enjoyed the driving Q and A portion. But...isn't leaving your refridgerator open for breakfast bad for the cooling motor?

  • @sunshinenikki1 mine too I have wanted to be there seince i was 4 and i have my twin brother to proove it too...

    Good bye for now...

  • @L1b3rta

Hey, there's some weird stuff out there, you never know. :P

  • @DuskHermit

Matt most likely came up with that idea him self. What, you actually think that people in Japan traditionally go sit infront of a fridge during summer? And if it's a family, that they would take turns? xD

  • I live in Florida, it's VERY humid here.

Also, did you come up with the breakfast in the fridge idea, or is that something that's commonly done?
