  • @icanflyhigh I grew up there, and was so terrified when my parents called me to tell me what was going on. I now live in Phoenix. From what I had seen on the news and based on the photos that my mother sent me, I was convinced that not only Timberline would be destroyed, but Fernwood (where I grew up) as well. To this day, I still can not believe that no homes were destroyed. Incredible! The local firefighters are the ones to thank for that! Everyone from Flag thanks them! :D

  • Thank you for posting. But it's kinda sad that no one really realizes the true amount of panic and stress for Doney Park and Timberline. I, myself, experienced this first hand when I saw this outside my window. We thought it was a control burn... then heard fire crew and police evacuating. People here came closer together to help one another. I'm glad it's over... but I am pissed that no one took the responsibility of the fire (possibly 2 hikers) and left a whole mountain bare black.
