Boot CD problem - HP laptop (solved)

Having problems booting from both CD-R and DVD-R. Same problem with backtrack 3 & 4, and ubuntu 8.10, so I'm guessing it's an overall problem with booting from a CD. Laptop is Hp dv6500se. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Possibly a BIOS problem? P.S. Sorry about the crappy quality --
Solved: Problem was using the burn bootable CD option from magicISO -- used a different freeware burning program called: Infrarecorder and just burned the image normally without any extra parameters, and it worked like a charm.
