This video was featured (favorably) in a Chicago Tribune article about community organizing on youtube.
The Historic Lake Michigan limestone revetment is being replaced with a poorly conceived and unattractive slab of concrete. In a series of clips, My Lakeview will document this most obvious betrayal of the public trust.

  • Thank you for posting this. I live farther north & had read about this, but didn't realize exactly what a travesty this was. We saw the cranes along Lake Shore Drive, but didn't realize all this was going on. Yet another lovely place "de-proved" = opposite of improved.

  • As someone who once lived in the lincoln pk. west area (1950-67) and spent many memorable days riding my bike along fulllerton beach, I agree that the city fatcats have made a terrible mistake. No other city in America has a more beautiful and natural lakefront. To develope this cold sterile wall does not enhance the area. Hopefully Daily and his cronies will choke on their kickbacks. Long live swimming off the rocks!!
