  • The sounds in this video are just like the Pilot episode of Emergency!, it sounds like a bus in the background in this video, which is just like the old CROWN firetrucks backing in.

  • the first engine didnt go b/c there was no call. besides Station 8 is also a Light Force station so LF 8 (which includes E 208) and Engine 8 are seperate units. and its not illegal for the ff on the tailboard of the rig....hes just backing the rig

  • @cityoflegburgh136E the guy on the back signals the driver when to stop, so engine 208 can pull out

  • Los Angeles County Station 8 is a 2 bay 5-6 unit station, if you remember the "Emergency" pilot.

  • @cityoflegburgh136E Riding the back step is not illegal, garbagemen still to it to this day. It's a safety issue while running the rig hot. There are some instances in some departments where it is required that someone be on the backstep while the rig is motion, such as after a fire in cold weather and the hose cannot be packed properly because the cotton jacket has frozen. The hose needs to be observed enroute back to the firehouse so if it falls off, the driver can be notified to stop the rig.

  • @FDNY1 and it was station 8 in the 5th season episode "Equipment" . Clips of the rollout of Engine 8 from Equipment was later reused in several episiodes in the 5th-7th seasons (the movies is considered as season 7)

  • @billyfrmhill in response to you and everyone else. they werent going on a call, notice how they are not responding, they are just driving somewhere. 8s is basically a Task Force but runs as a Truck and 2 engines, they hardly run as a Light Force.

  • @lacofd101 because a Fireghter fell off one day and got crushed while riding tailboard when they backed up. Its not illegal, the department just doesnt want you to do it

  • @billyfrmhill in response to that and everyone, they didnt go on a call. they probably went shopping or had to do something else. County 8s is technically a Task Force but runs a Truck and 2 engines. You hardly see LF 8 rolling together.

  • @cityoflegburgh136E actually its a KME, this is LA County fire they dont have Pierces.

  • In response to everyone asking why the first engine (E8), didn't respond, the answer is that E8 was not assigned to the call. Light force 8 was assigned.

A light force consists of a truck and a engine. Light force engines always have 200 added to the station number to differentiate between it and the regular engine. Station 8 only has two bays, so thats why squad 8 and engine 8 pulled out to let E208 go around. Truck 8 is in one of the bays, and E208, E8, and squad 8 are in the other
