Gives me shivers, 73 million dead, and 10s and 10s more wounded...in a time where the population of the world was just 1.28 billion. And if you take out the hundreds of millions that were spared by never having to get involved. Those countries who got involved had a total population of 975 million. 73 million dead and + wounded = well over 200 million casualties...out of 975 million. Not many people would trust that luck. The world held it's breathe and trusted it though. Makes me shiver, cold.
