Shoot-Style grappling match (i.e. stronger emphasis on legitimate submissions, striking and wrestling techniques without the more entertainment-centered aspects of pro-wrestling like american and mexican wrestling).
For anyone who watches this and is reminded of MMA: This is actually the style that MMA in Japan evolved from.

- Volk Han (real name is Magomedhan Amanulajevich Gamzathanov born April 15, 1961 in Anchih, Dagestan) is a shoot wrestler and later a mixed martial artist known for his technical mastery of Sambo and submission victories in shoot wrestling and MMA. He was representing Russia in the Russian RINGS team with Fedor Emelianenko among other famous russian grapplers.

In 1979, Volk began training with five-time world champion in freestyle wrestling Ali Alijev in the city of Tula. In 1981, he began his two-year service in USSR military, after which he began training Sambo with Victor Lysenko.

In 1984, Volk attended the Police Academy in Moscow. Volk Han signed the contract with RINGS Fighting Network in 1991 and participated in numerous MMA fights.

- Willie "Bear Killer" Williams (also known as Sensei Kamau Okbar), is a 6 feet 7 inches, 231lbs Kyokushinkai Karate fighter. He was the first foreigner to gain 3rd place in the Kyokushin Karate World Tournament in 1979.

Williams Karate History:
USA Oyama Karate vs Seidokaikan 1991 - (Lost to Masaaki Satake)
3rd World Open Karate Tournament 1984 (IKO) - Final 32 (Lost to Keizo..)
2nd World Open Karate Tournament 1979 (IKO) - 3rd Place

He became known as "Bear Killer" when he fought/wrestled a 8 foot 750 pound bear as part of a Japanese documentary on Kyokushin Karate in 1976 (Even though the bear may have been tame it is not every day some one takes on a bear,he probably wished to replicate Mas Oyama bull killing feat ). You can see Williams versus the Bear here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCZGbUkabd4

Williams was suspended from the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan along with his Sensei Shigeru Oyama for his fight against Antonio Inoki in 1980. The match ended in a draw from Doctor stoppage. Williams had a broken arm and Inoki had a broken rib.

After leaving Kyokushin competition, made appearances in the RINGS fight promotion. He also toured with several pro wrestling industries, most notably the UWFi.

He retired from fighting after being hit by a car while riding his bike.
He is also a secret character in the video game "Tekken".
