This arrangement of "The Swan" from from Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals is "Old wine In a New Skin" I guess you could say. I found a very sweet and lush arrangement of this "Theremin Chestnut" and just fell in love with it. So here it is, played on my Moog Etherwave Pro theremin for my YouTube Maiden Voyage!

  • Thanks, I had a great time too and hope we can get together again soon.

  • Hello, thanks for your kind remark. I actually have a copy of the original Fuleihan score, and have played "AT" it "for self amazement" but never performed it. It's way over my head at this point -- it takes someone with the kind of chops that only Clara Rockmore had to pull it off.

  • How awesome! I've never heard of a theremin. I want to learn how to play one... wow.

    - Your cousin Sarah from NC

  • Hi Sarah, so great to see you here! Email forthcoming... VERY glad to finally be catching up with family branches in NC. It's been too long.

  • wow...I wonder if that's what I've heard in some old movies that I thought were vocals? I think it is a very interesting and definitely mysterious instrument-if I was there, I would clap

  • Most likely, that's what it was. Because that's how the theremin tends to sound - like a lady singing off in the distance.
