@devtherevLS I think a lot of people detest them because they built themselves up on a bunch of hot air, only to release a pretty tepid album. Even if you CAN back the attitude up with great music, there's no need for a NEW band to be cocky posers or douches. These guys couldn't even back it up.

@baggies37 I might not like Viva Brother's album, but they are so much better than Foster the People. Not to mention they're top-40 fodder now. If I were to see Mark Foster in person, I'd slap him across the face. Also, why does Viva Brother have 3,249 YouTube channels? A name change and the VEVO suffix aren't good reasons.

Listen to the Manics, Blur or Radiohead's first albums. None of those are groundbreaking or innovative, and they all wore their influences on their sleeves as well.
That was before they all went on to become three of the greatest bands the UK has ever produced, of course.
This is a good album, by a band who have a lot of potential.
